The Sounds of Sawnee Community Band will present a Celtic Celebration Concert featuring beloved songs of Ireland and the British Isles conducted by Ms. Alice Lewise Bryan, Music Director.  The performance will include the favorites “The Rakes of Mallow” and “The Irish Washerwoman” both from Leroy Anderson’s Irish Suite; “An Irish Salute” which includes the traditional songs Galway Bay, With My Shillelagh Under My Arm, and Dear Old Donegal; and a suite of Three Celtic Dances.  Ms. Bryan will share conducting with Dr. William Prescott, Director Emeritus and Mr. Charles McGahey, a retired middle school band director who has recently joined the band.

Ms. Bryan, an accomplished vocalist, will perform “Danny Boy” accompanied by Mr. Donald Bradbury.  Also on the program is the North Atlanta Pipes and Drums which will perform a medley of Irish tunes on the bagpipes.
